Derick Haire

Managing Partner

Derick Haire is a Managing Partner of Signal Hill Partners, a global retained executive search firm focused on recruiting executive talent across the life sciences and healthcare continuum. ​

Derick has more than 20 years of professional leadership and consulting experience within global executive search and executive talent acquisition with a primary focus on the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Derick has helped to build global teams within large, publicly traded companies as well as with small to medium sized enterprises and venture-backed start-ups. 

These roles have covered Board Director, CEO, C-Suite, SVP/VP and other senior level positions within general management, manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing, business development, strategy, regulatory, compliance, quality, corporate functions as well as across the entire R&D function – covering early discovery, early and late-stage clinical development and medical affairs. He has worked extensively on international search assignments based in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Derick’s previous experience includes key roles at leading global executive search firms including Spencer Stuart & Associates, CTPartners/Christian & Timbers and ZRG Partners.

Earlier, Derick was with Life Technologies/Invitrogen (now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific) where he helped lead the build out of a global talent acquisition function serving in key functional leadership positions of increasing responsibility. During this time, Derick spent time on assignment in Tokyo, Japan.

Derick received a bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Miami (FL) where his focus was organizational behavior, leadership and international business. Derick also completed coursework at Oxford University, Exeter College and the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne, while attaining his MBA. 

Derick has completed executive leadership courses, including the HR Strategy Program at University of Michigan, Competitive Business Strategy at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) Program at Harvard Medical School. He is currently enrolled in the Healthcare Management Program at the Yale School of Management.
